AUSN’s JNROTC and NROTC Patriot Award recognizes students who demonstrate honor, courage, and commitment. They may be nominated by their Unit Instructors, and recipients receive a medal authorized by the Navy to be worn on their uniforms.

The application process is currently closed until March 2023.

AUSN's National Legislative Advocacy Award was established in 2004, and is presented annually to Congressional members who showed leadership and support while advocating for a stronger Navy.

The Junior Officer of the Year Award was established in 1983 as a single Outstanding Junior Officer Award. The awards are presented annually in four categories: one Full Time Support (FTS) Line, one Full Time Support (FTS) Staff, one Selected Reserve (SELRES) Line, and one Selected Reserve (SELRES) Staff. Young reserve officers are recognized for their outstanding commitment to the Navy, their academic achievements, and their demonstrated leadership.

The Bea Ratner Navy Reserve Nurse Corps Junior Officer of the Year Award was established in 1993, and is sponsored by HMC Manny Ratner in honor of his spouse. This award is presented annually to a Navy Reserve Nurse Corps Officer who is clinically and academically active, demonstrates a commitment to the Navy, and promotes the Navy core values.
