If you are initially retiring in 2009, this is what a retirement point is currently worth. To place a full monetary value on one point would be somewhat difficult. The difficulty would be in figuring the value of the entitlements and benefits that accompany retirement pay, such as TRICARE. However, the basic pay portion is easy to calculate. Here are pay grades and selected longevity points reflecting the 2009 pay table value of one point each month in retired pay.
