Attention – Plan Ahead for NRA Junior Officers of the Year for FY 2008

JOY PROGRAM: Rank of O-1 through O-4, Not Selected to O-5.

1. Selected Reservist – Two awards, one for line officer and one for staff officer.
2. Full-Time Support – Two awards, one for line officer and one for staff officer.
3. In regard to the exclusive NRA Bea Ratner Nurse Corps Junior Officer Award, if a Nurse Corps officer is selected as the Selected Reserve – Staff JOY, the selectee will also receive the Bea Ratner Award. If not, the Bea Ratner awardee will be selected from the nominations submitted for the Selected Reserve JOY – Staff. Nomination and submission guidelines for the Bea Ratner are the same as the other four JOY categories.
4. Expect deadline for nominations to be mid January. Nominations are now sent to Navy Reserve Force (N01A) instead of directly to NRA.
5. A board will be convened at NRA Headquarters by mid February. Navy Reserve Forces Command will solicit membership for this board by Naval message in Nov/Dec each year.
6. The Navy Reserve Forces Command will fund travel for the recipients to attend the award event.
7. Award presentation will take place at the Association’s Spring Conference.  For 2009, the NRA Spring Conference will be in Ft. Worth, TX; 26-28 March.
