AWF1 (NAC/AW) ANGELICA A. ANGILLETTA

Angelica A. Angilletta was born on 22 Oct. 1976 in Janesville, Wisconsin. She attended public school and graduated from Craig High School, in Janesville, Wisconsin, in June 1994. Upon graduation from high school, she joined the United States Navy in December 1995. After the completion of Basic Training at RTC Great Lakes, Seaman Recruit Angilletta reported to the Supply Department at NAS Barbers Point, Hawaii.

There, she worked as Bachelor Enlisted Quarters Building Manager maintaining, inspecting, and beautifying barracks spaces for permanent party and transfer personnel.

In July 1999, Seamen Angilletta left active duty and reported to the Navy Reserve. Upon entering the Reserves, she was assigned to Naval Reserve FFG AUGMENT UNIT 215 where she would strike to become an Aviation Maintenance Administrationman. It was there that her positive attitude and determination helped the command win the coveted Leo V. Bilger Award.

She transferred to FLTLOGSUPPRON FIVE ONE (VR-S I) in August 2000. Assigned as Maintenance Admin Logs and Records Clerk, she performed upkeep and entry on the Aircraft Log Books for the C-20G aircraft. She received her Associates Degree from Chaminade University and was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from USS FREDERICK – LST 1184 for her unwavering support in maintaining total control of 1MRL and tool room assets.

In August 2001, she transferred to FLTLOGSUPPRON FIVE SIX (VR-56) in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She qualified as a Naval Aircrewman in January 2006 and immediately upgraded to the Load Master position. In October 2008, she was converted to the Naval Aircrewman (Mechanical) rating. Currently assigned as Main-tenance Control Leading Petty Officer, her additional duties include First Class Association Vice President, Command Urinalysis Coordinator and PFA Coordinator.

Petty Officer Angilletta’s civilian employment consists of being a Supervisor and Collateral Duty Inspector as Production Control Logs and Records for F404-GE-400/402 Engines for the Navy’s largest Fleet Readiness Center Mid Atlantic. She has been employed with Kay and Associates for five years.

Petty Officer Angilletta is entitled to wear the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2), Battle “E”, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Navy Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, Expert Navy Rifle Marksman and Expert 9MM Pistol Marksman.

In June 2004, Petty Officer Angilletta earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and a minor in Sociology from Saint Leo University, graduating with honors. She is currently working on her Master’s in Business Administration. She has one son, Giovanni Angilletta, and currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

HM1 (SCW) SHALANDA L. BREWER Shalanda Lavon Brewer was born in St. Louis, MO, along with her twin sister on 5 May 1981. She also has an older sister and younger brother. She and her siblings were raised in Orange County, CA, and St. Louis, MO. Her parents grew up in St. Louis and her mother still resides there, enjoying the extra time she spends with her grandchildren. Petty Officer Brewer graduated from Hazelwood Central High School in 1999, having played the flute in the band and served on the student council.

Immediately after graduation, she enlisted in the United States Navy and went to boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes (Division 279). She attended Yeoman “A” School in Meridian, MS, graduating 4th in her class. She then served as the order writer for shipboard inspectors at Afloat Training Group Pacific, San Diego, CA. As the ALPO and also as the passport agent, she expedited over 500 passports for her battalion during post-9/11, achieving Seabee Combat Warfare Qualification for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE, Gulfport, MS.

After four years of active duty service, in 2003, she exited and affiliated with the U.S. Navy Reserve in St. Louis, MO. Her first Reserve assignment was FISC Yokosuka, St. Louis. While in the Navy Reserve, she attended Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing and Allied Health and obtained her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Radiologic Technology. In 2007, she cross-rated to Hospital Corpsman, then transferred to OHSU Camp Lejuene, Det E, serving as the Reserve LPO for the Physical Health Assessments section.

In her civilian occupation, she is a Radiologic Technologist at Depaul Level 1 Trauma Hospital as well as St. Luke’s Urgent Care Center in St. Louis. For the past 12 months, she has been mobilized in support of the Navy Expeditionary Medical Unit mission in Landstuhl, Germany.

Her hobbies include: kickboxing, cooking, and reading nonfiction literature. Her future short-term goals include the completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiology. Her long-term goals include obtaining her Master’s Degree in Public Health. She also has aspirations of becoming a Public Health educator.

EO1 (EXW/SCW/FMF) PAUL E. FRANCO

Paul E. Franco was born in Queens, New York, on 22 Sep. 1973. He graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School in 1991, attended La Salle University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology. In the spring of 1997, Petty Officer Franco became a police officer with the New York City Police Department, then, subsequently, was hired as a firefighter with the New York City Fire Department.

In 1999, he enlisted in the United States Navy and attended Basic Training at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. He was immediately assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 21, located in Lakehurst, New Jersey. He was recalled to active duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and was deployed to Iraq. As part of the mobile security element, Petty Officer Franco directly supported all of the units’ convoys and civil affairs projects throughout the country.

He transferred to Operational Support Team Two in 2005 and completed two Additional Training Period deployments to Iraq (fall 2007, spring 2008) as part of an innovative program for Team redeployment. This unit, named Mobile Air Support Team, streamlined customs, hazardous materials, repacking, cleaning, and joint inspections for the deployed squadron. He subsequently was asked to stay with Special Operations Task Force West (SOTF-W) during the Spring 2008 mission to provide additional resources for all Air Logistics in the SOTF-W area of operations.

In the fall of 2008, Petty Officer Franco was recalled to active duty with Seal Team 18 and was cross assigned to Seal Team 10 as a Lead Petty Officer in charge of a detachment of 21 enablers. He completed courses, advantageous to deployment, in Tactical Combat Critical Care, Hazardous Materials, and Tier 1 Off Road Tactical Driving, among others. During the deployment, all 21 enablers of the detachment were awarded the Expeditionary Warfare Specialist Designation under his tutelage. As the enabler LPO of his detachment, the location was reconstructed to allow for a self-sustaining camp of over 50 personnel. Petty Officer Franco completed numerous convoy operations and direct action missions as a driver and gunner for the Team. Petty Officer Franco was recognized as the Enabler Sailor of the Quarter (4th Qtr. FY-09) for Seal Team 10 for his dedication to duty and superior performance while on deployment.

Petty Officer Franco was released from active duty in December 2009 and returned to his home on Long Island, New York, and is back to work with the New York City Fire Department.

AWS1 (NAC/AW) RAYMOND C. LAWSON

Petty Officer Raymond Lawson graduated at Earl Wooster High School in Reno, Nevada, in 1991. Upon enlisting in the United States Navy, he reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Orlando in March 2004. Shortly after graduating RTC as his company’s Honor Recruit and Athletic Award winner, he entered the Naval Aircrew Training Program, attending Aircrew Candidate School, Aviation Rescue Swimmer School, and Aviation Mechanic Structures “A” School. After completing the Fleet Replacement Aircrew syllabus at Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Three (HC-3) in the CH-46D, he was designated a Naval Aircrewman and was assigned to Helicopter Support Squadron Six (HC-6), NAS Norfolk, Virginia. As a Charger, he volunteered for back-to-back deployments onboard the USS SAN DIEGO and USS NASSAU. In March of 1999, Petty Officer Lawson entered the Inactive Ready Reserve and was hired as a Deputy for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Petty Officer Lawson enlisted in the Navy Reserve in September 2003 and was assigned to Helicopter Combat Support Special Squadron Five (HCS-5 Firehawks), Halsey Field, NAS North Island. In early 2004, he volunteered to transfer to Helicopter Combat Support Special Squadron Four (HCS-4 Red Wolves), NAS Norfolk, which had been ordered to mobilize and relieve the Firehawks in Balad, Iraq. Petty Officer Lawson deployed to Iraq with the Red Wolves to conduct air assaults on high value targets in support of Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force Arabian Peninsula. In June 2005, he returned to HCS-5 and deployed for his second combat tour to Iraq. In January 2007, Petty Officer Lawson was selected as an Aircrew Instructor and transferred to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Three (HS-3) where he mentored and instructed fleet replacement aircrew in the MH-60S. In April 2008, he joined Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Eight Five (HSC-85 High Rollers ) where he flew in support of the Southern California Offshore Range and California wild land firefighting efforts. Petty Officer Lawson mobilized for a third time in September 2008 and deployed in support of the 2515th Naval Air Ambulance Detachment, Basrah, Iraq, where he conducted combat medical evacuations in support of US and coalition forces.

His personal decorations include Strike/Flight Air Medals (3), Meritorious Air Medal, Navy Achievement Medals (4), Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy “E” Ribbons (2), Navy Reserve Meritorious Service Medals (2), National Defense Service Medals (2), Iraqi Campaign Medals (2), Global War On Terrorism Medal (Expeditionary), Global War On Terrorism Medal (Service), Armed Forces Service Medals (4), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4), Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Navy Expert Rifle Qualification Medal, Navy Expert Pistol Qualification Medal.

Petty Officer Lawson and his fiancée, Melissa Hendrix, currently reside in San Diego, California.

EA1 (SCW) DWIGHT A. WOODLEY

Engineering Aid First Class Petty Officer Dwight A. Woodley enlisted in the Navy in June 1989 following graduation from Walton High School in Bronx, New York, and was honorably discharged from active duty in June 1993. He reaffiliated with the Reserve in September 1995.

After completing Recruit Training, he graduated Propulsion Engineering Basic and Boiler Technician “A” School in Great Lakes, IL. He also attended several “C” schools, earning NEC’s as Naval Leadership Development ProgramFacilitator (9518), Journeyman Instructor Training (9502), Advanced Engineering Aid (5303), and Hazardous Materials Control Management Technician (9595), and several other Navy schools. PO Woodley is currently enrolled in a Master in Transportation and Logistics with an emphasis in Engineering and completed a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, Associate in Applied Marine Engineering, and Associate in Industrial Electronics with Telecommunication.

PO Woodley’s previous assignments include: carrier John F. Kennedy, NOSC New York City, New York; Naval Weapons Station, Earle, New Jersey; Fort Dix, New Jersey; Lakehurst Naval Station, New Jersey, which includes many RC units.

He currently reports to Operation Support Unit Bronx, where he is the Unit’s Career Counselor and Training Petty Officer, but he cross-assigned to the Center for Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) as a Leadership Instructor and Command Individual Augmentation Coordinator (CIAC).

Petty Officer Woodley is authorized to wear four Navy Achievement Medals, Navy Good Conduct Medal, four Navy Reserve Meritorious Service Medals, Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment, Navy and Marine Overseas Service Ribbon, Navy Rifle Marksmanship, Navy Marksmanship and several other campaign medals and ribbons.
