This ships list is intended to provide VA regional offices with a resouce for determining whether a particular US Navy or Coast Guard Veteran of the Vietnam era is eligible for the presumption of Agent Orange herbicide exposure based on operations of the Veteran's ship.

Please check to see if the USS Long Beach CG(N)9 has been added to the list. I was aboard as a BM3 from 1967-1971. On May 5, 1968 the USS Long Beach entered DaNang harbor. Would that be concidered "Brown Water"? I have come to find out that many ex-shipmates have been stricken with cancer. We were on "Yankee Station" for an extened period of time. I am wondering why we are not included. Thank You, Ed

Although my ship is listed, USS Orleck DD-886 the time was July 1969, problem is that the ship was operating in harbors, bays, river deltas, in the Mekong Delta from 1965 to 1970, almost everyware from Da Nang to the southern tip of Vietnam, all listed in the ship's logs posted on the internet at http://www.ussorleck.com/decklogs/ Ok my question is how would one go about getting this error corrected?

My navigator said USS CLEVELAND LPD-7 operated on the Saigon River and anchored in Danang Harbor in November/December 1972 two days. Need verification for claim. My ship did not submit a history for 1972 when we were awarded the combat action ribbon.

There seems to be lots of ships missing from the VA list of ships. Mostly DDs. I was on the uss Carpenter dd825 in the mekong delta and on the gun lines all up and down the coast. We participated in the Market time operations too!

All Navy Members -- no one will be answering these -- any more -- after I depart -- 31 Decebmer -- so, recommend you look at the web site -below- and stay tuned to it -- The current ship list can be found at http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/.... Most Blue Water Navy ships are not yet – included in the list, unless they made certain port calls or actions inland, however, there are several studies and legislation that indicates exposure to off shore ships in the Vietnam War. AUSN is keeping a very close watch on the updated list & this issue; we support S 1629 and HR 2634. You can see how to add to the list the above web page. Log books, records are needed to add to the VA List. – ike.puzon@ausn.org Also, if I can answer any question on Blue Water Navy - Agent Orange issue -- I will - after I depart. Meanwhile -- send me a note at ike.puzon@ausn.org or puzon1@comcast.net -- again - there is noone here at AUSN that knows or follows VA - Agent Orange issue -- until perhaps they hire someone - in behind me with Veterans experience.
