Safekeeping Documents Minimize

Safeguarding your Naval career documents is an important element to ensure your career history is preserved and correctly documented. This can be extremely critical for surviving family members.

As a member service, the Association is accepting photocopies of your DD214, NOE, RCSBP election, and retirement orders for safekeeping at Headquarters. To take advantage of this member service, just forward a photocopy of any or all of the four Reserve career documents mentioned above to:

Association of the United States Navy
Attn: Mark De Ville
1619 King Street
Alexandria, VA 22314

Upon receipt, we will annotate your membership data record as to which documents we are safeguarding for you. Retrieval is accomplished upon request by you or a family member.

A Reminder About Life’s Important Papers

Keeping important papers conveniently located and accessible to family members is always practical, but it becomes vital with respect to your Reserve retirement, such as protecting entitlements for surviving family members. What defines important papers? General consensus identifies birth/marriage/death certificates, divorce decree, will/trust, adoption papers, DD214, notice of eligibility for retired pay at age 60 (NOE), Reserve retirement orders, insurance policies, and emergency points of contact as important documents.
