AdvocacyMinimize

AUSN's goal is to educate Congress and the nation on issues pertaining to the Navy and National Defense. We keep you informed of what's happening now, provide you with resources you need to be knowledgeable of the issues and ask you take action to help shape National policy.

Strategies

  • Educate Congress and the Nation with respect to the Association’s position on U.S. Navy matters.
  • Inform and encourage participation by Association membership to identify legislative members within each state who are supporters of the U.S. Navy and have a voting record backing up their support.
  • Provide verbal and written testimonials to Congress in support of the Association goals as a separate Association and in conjunction with other supportive organizations (e.g. TMA, NMVA, ROA, NERA, MOAA, etc.).
  • Identify legislative issues and encourage Association membership to submit resolutions.

What We Do

  • Identify important issues affecting Navy personnel, equipment, and defense.
  • Track pending legislation to ensure that it is achievable.
  • Publish news articles to inform membership and the public.
  • Broadcast email legislative updates.
  • Maintain a viable legislative network.
  • Present resolutions for membership concurrence.
  • Coordinate with the National Military Veterans Alliance and The Military Coalition.
  • Answer external inquires with substance and professional depiction of the U.S. Navy.
