Dear Representative Stump,
The Department of Defense issued the National Guard and Reserve Equipment Report for Fiscal Year 2001 in February 2000.
This report contains an inaccuracy. Chart three of Chapter 4, entitled "Naval Reserve Unfunded Modernization Requirements" is outdated, page 4-12. This was a chart submitted for the Dec 15, 1999 publication deadline.

The Naval Reserve Association and the Naval Reserve Enlisted Association, with a combined membership of 37 thousand members are concerned with the shortfall in funding for equipment for the Naval Reserve. We wanted to highlight to your office the changes in requirements, so that the appropriate equipage would be funded.
Thank you for the commitment that you have characteristically shown to a strong armed services, and we appreciate the difficulty of the challenge that you have before you, but over 300,000 supporters of the Naval Reserve are anxious about equipment funding and support the Chief of Naval Reserve recommendations.
If you have any questions, our point of contact is CAPT Marshall Hanson, USNR who as a drilling reservist is the Naval Reserve Association’s Director of Legislation, 703-548-5800.
