As co-chair of The Military Coalition Guard and Reserve Committee — AUSN, facilitated a meeting for the 15 associations that are members of the TMC Guard and Reserve Committee (34 total association are in the TMC www.themilitarycoalition.org and 5.5 million members) to discuss current issues facing the Reserve Components and especially CSM Burch’s perspective of issues facing his over 300,000 enlisted members. The Army Guard has an end-strength of 350,000 members.
The roundtable discussions proved to be highly successful and informative as to the issues facing Guard-Reserve Components, and active duty. The top issues discussed where; 1) Dwell time for all service members deploying to war, 2) Dental and Health readiness issues facing Guard members as well as Reserve Components, and 3) equipment and 4) family readiness-mobilization issues.
