About AUSN
As the Association of the United States Navy (AUSN) expands its focus to the entire Navy, AUSN continues to advocate for those who have shown their support over the 55-year history of the organization.

AUSN proactively takes care of our most indispensable assets—service members and their families—by:
  • writing to the President;
  • hosting House and Senate meetings;
  • working with key Members of Congress; and
  • encouraging AUSN members to support key legislation for our membership of nearly 20,000 Navy people.
AUSN is located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, VA.

How We Serve Our Members

AUSN works for our members and the Navy overall by:
  • promoting the Department of the Navy’s interests;
  • encouraging the professional development of officers and enlisted; and
  • educating the public and the bodies politic regarding the nation’s welfare and security.
The Association prides itself on personal career assistance to its members and successful legislative activity on Capitol Hill regarding equipment and personnel issues. AUSN actively represents our members by participating in some of the most distinguished groups protecting the rights of
military personnel. The Association holds key committee chair positions in The Military Coalition, a 34-member group of associations with a strong history of advocating for the rights and benefits of military personnel, current and retired. AUSN also holds key chair positions in the National Military Veterans Alliance.

Simply put, AUSN members range from those who have previously served and support a strong Navy to those currently serving to those who have retired from service. These groups include officers, enlisted, midshipmen, active component and reserve. AUSN recently established a “friends of the Navy” group for those who have not served but who support the Navy and National Defense.
